Federal PM housing loan

Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar

A subsidised bank loan for a first home — not a free house, not an allotment, and not the whole of Estate Checks. We score a unit against published caps and show Lahore listings that currently fit. The bank still sanctions the file. We do not certify title.

What this programme is

The State Bank issued it as Mera Ghar – Mera Ashiana, then renamed it Wazir-e-Azam Apna Ghar. You apply at a participating bank or HBFCL. Markup subsidy and risk-sharing sit on the federal side. The loan is still the bank’s decision.

Estate Checks is a listing desk. Cash buyers and bank-file buyers both use it. This page is only for people who want to see whether a Lahore unit sits inside the published caps.

What it is not

  • Not a free house or a government allotment.
  • Not a cash-purchase product — cash buyers still buy on this site, just not through this loan.
  • Not a pass that means “the bank will disburse.”
  • Not a title clearance, valuation, or CIB check.
  • Not the same as Punjab’s Apni Chhat Apna Ghar construction scheme.

Published caps we score against

Taken from the active rules row (SBP SH&SFD Circular Letter No. 01 of 2026, 2026-03-17). Terms change — re-read the official source before you apply.

Who the published rules cover

Allowed purposes

  1. 1. Buy a completed unit
  2. 2. Build on a plot you already own
  3. 3. Buy a plot and build

First housing unit only. If any house already sits in the buyer’s name, stop.

Outside the scheme

  1. 1. Buy a plot only (no construction)
  2. 2. Renovate or expand

Debt-burden, CIB, age-at-maturity, and the bank’s own solicitor still sit with the bank. We do not model those here.
